    This free program for seniors will get you started with the basics of using technology. Reserve your place in the rogram by calling 1300 655 355 or visiting a branch of Darebin Libraries.

    Monday 5 June Introduction to Email – Part 1
    Tuesday 13 June Introduction to Email – Part 2 & 3

    Each week:
    An interpreter will be present at each session. The class will be interpreted into Macedonian, and your questions will be translated to English.
    Computers and/or iPads will be provided for you to use during this session, however if you have your own device please bring it with you.
    This program is aimed at seniors (60 years & over). This program is a partnership between the Victorian Seniors Card Program and Telstra.

  • Why Super Brain Train?

    Why Super Brain Train?

    When: 9 May 2017, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
    Location: Preston Library
    Scientific research now shows that memory loss is not a normal part of aging. In fact, there are now recognised ways to improve your memory as you age. Super Brain Train is an educational workshop which gives you daily, practical ways to incorporate best practice for a brain-protective lifestyle.  

    Topics covered include:
    • brain awareness – top 7 risk factors for cognitive decline
    • brain games & memory exercises 
    • socialising – how to process and remember names
    • movement – balance skills and fall prevention

    The course is run by Maggie Flanagan, a Wellness and Nutrition Coach.

    When: Occurs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM every week on Thursday, from 4 May 2017 until 22 Jun 2017
    Location: Preston Library

    Always wanted to play chess but never had someone to teach you?   Or do you just want to play a social game of chess with a friend? 

    From Thursday 4 May Preston Library will be hosting a weekly chess club.   No bookings are necessary, just come along and join a game.
